Tailored training for wellbeing
A recent study reveals the importance of tailored training for more effective results instead of a ‘one size fits all’ solution.
The research by Aviva surveyed 2,000 UK workers, conducted to highlight the current working life trends and the impact of work on physical and mental wellbeing. The results showed how the ambiguity of the last year has affected us all very differently, seemingly influenced by age and personality type. There is a spotlight on organisations, however, to provide their employees with the skills and support to manage their wellbeing.
There are many reasons why people are finding that their wellbeing is declining right now, from anxiety around their health and financial security, to lack of team spirit through feelings of isolation. With that in mind, sadly, only 26% of respondents felt that their employers are genuinely concerned about their wellbeing. With ample evidence showing that good mental health at work is good for business, from increased productivity to less absenteeism, employers must embrace the challenge of caring for and supporting their employees’ wellbeing.
The researchers of the study concluded with the recommendation of personalising mental health and wellbeing support to address individual issues, where possible.
